BIO for Beatriz Young & My Glamour Addiction

Beatriz was born and raised in Ameca, Jalisco, a small town in Central Mexico.  She showed a keen interest in fashion and beauty at a young age, and by eleven was enrolled in beauty classes at school.  With few resources in her small town, it was then that she started to experiment with natural beauty ingredients, like carrots with rice flour to make powder, beets to make blush and charcoal for eye liner.

In 1987 Beatriz traveled to the United States, for looking for greater opportunity.  She never lost her passion for glamour and the makeup industry, and eventually started working as a skincare and beauty consultant for Mary Kay cosmetics.  And for several years she began searching for better and better formulas to create her own line of skin care and cosmetics.

In 2016 Beatriz enrolled in a professional makeup academy, and graduated as a Certified Professional Makeup Artist.  As part of her final exams, she received a second diploma, for having won 1st Place in the Academy’s fantasy makeup contest where she competed with 20 other students.

After her graduation Beatriz had the opportunity to meet many great celebrities in the makeup industry and started attending various professional events.  This gave her the opportunity to take additional classes and obtain specialized certificates and continuing education, because new products and technologies are always happening in the world of makeup.

In 2018 there was a change in her life.  A serious car accident and long recovery stopped all plans and progress on her project.

Now it’s 2020, and today we are in a pandemic with COVID-19 and there have been many changes throughout the nation.  Many business are closed and people are told to stay home.  I have taken advantage of this time to put my talent and knowledge to work by completing the project I started so long ago.  To create my own brand of skin care and cosmetics.  And because of my life long love of beauty and makeup, and desire to share my knowledge and experience with others, the idea came to me to name my brand "MY GLAMOR ADDICTION”.

There are always going to be obstacles and setbacks in your life, but never let them stop you, keep trying.
